Each year, the Warrior 196 sponsors a sanctioned Ultimate Frisbee Tournament for high school teams as an opportunity for young leaders to continue physical fitness and help make a healthy lifestyle. The tournaments take place in May, near Memorial Day, to remember our fallen. With questions about the tournament contact Peter LaVoie. The tournament is called the Chris Goeke Memorial Tournament in honor of one the 196 Warriors, who was involved in Ultimate Frisbee in high school.

Past events
2024

• The 2024 tournament took place on May 18 and 19. Thank you all for participating and thank you, city of Lakeville for hosting us at Aronson Field again! White Bear Lake won the girls' division and Edina won the boys' division.

2023

• It was a beautiful weekend for our 12th Annual Ultimate Frisbee tournament! Edina took the boys and girls' leagues and St. Paul Central won the boys' JV division.

2022

• We had a wonderful tournament at Aronson Park with 30 teams! Edina boys and Edina girls won the two leagues.

2021

• We were happy to be back in 2021 (with limited attendance) and had a great tournament. Congrats to Edina boys and Armstrong girls for winning their divisions!

2020

• The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19.

2019

• The 2019 tournament was on May 18 and hosted 32 teams. ​

2018

• The 2018 tournament was on May 19 & 20 and hosted 32 teams. 

2017

• The 2017 tournament was on May 20 and hosted 32 teams. 

2016

• The 2016 tournament was on May 14 & 15 and hosted 32 teams

2015

• The 2015 tournament was on May 16 and 17 and hosted 30 high school teams! This was the first year we had Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Women’s tournaments and it was a great success!

2014

• The 2014 tournament was on May 3rd and 4th. 16 teams came out to compete. The day finished with a windy, but delicious BBQ.​

2013

• Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the 2013 tournament had to be cancelled.

2012

• The 2012 Ultimate Frisbee Tournament was held on May 19th and 20th at Johnny Cake Ridge Park in Apple Valley, MN. The event consisted of an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament and Family Fun Day, coming together on one weekend with the theme of “Mind, Body and Spirit.” Concessions were available throughout the tournament with the proceeds supporting the AVHS Ultimate team.
